Why we put coffee beans in a beverage can
Roasted coffee gives off carbon dioxide for days. A bag has a one-way valve to let it out. A drinks can is built to hold pressure, so we use it. We rest each lot, flush the headspace with nitrogen, and close the can with a double seam: the same folded joint that keeps a beer sealed.
The whole top comes off, so the beans pour out and you get the aroma at once. A snap-on lid reseals it. When it’s empty, remove the lid and put the can in your kerbside recycling.
It isn’t a drink, and it isn’t part of the deposit return scheme. It says so on the front.
Draft post. Rewrite it in your own words once you’ve run your own pressure tests.
